Student Art Walk

 Student Art Walk
This 2 part program launched near the end of the 2024–2025 school year, the Student Art Walk began as a partnership between Rochester Main Street and Spaulding High School. The first part of the program showcases the incredible creativity of local students by displaying their artwork in downtown businesses, transforming storefronts into a rotating community gallery.
Building on the success of its first year, Rochester Main Street plans to expand the program by including additional schools and introducing quarterly art swaps, each celebrated with a formal opening night.
This will give more students and community members the opportunity to take part and enjoy new artwork throughout the year.
Special thanks to the following businesses for participating in this year’s Student Art Walk:
Jetpack Comics • Stitches Alterations & Needleworks • Smitten Yarn Co. • Studley Flower Gardens • Busy Bee Cafe • Postal Center USA • RE/Max Home Connection • Melange Integrative Health • Kesler Insurance • Stage Door • Progressive Aesthetics
We look forward to bringing even more schools and local artists into the program in the future. We also have several new businesses that will be joining the art walk as we move forward.
A second part of this program features painted rocks created by students. Rochester Main Street donated paint and materials to the art classes, where teachers allowed students to decorate rocks during free classroom time. These colorful pieces have since been placed throughout the downtown area — a small but meaningful way to bring creativity, color, and joy to unexpected corners of the city

How To Support This initiative

The Student Art Walk relies on collaboration between local schools, businesses, and community volunteers. There are several ways you can help this program grow:
Downtown Businesses: Host student artwork in your storefront or office. Displays rotate quarterly, and Rochester Main Street will assist with setup and coordination.
Schools & Teachers: Partner with us to showcase student art and highlight your school’s creative talent. We welcome participation from all grade levels and art programs. We provide the Frames and ID Cards for each piece of art.
Sponsors: By sponsoring this project, you help cover the cost of art supplies as well as costs associated with the formal art walks when a new round of pictures is released. If you would like to help with this cost but don't want to sponsor the project you can always purchase items from our Amazon Wish List https://a.co/iSX4WMq.
By working together, we can celebrate young artists, bring color and life to our downtown, and strengthen the connection between our students and the community.
If you’re interested in getting involved, please reach out to [email protected] or [email protected].
