Skeletons & Halloween Decorations

What began as a partnership between Rochester Main Street and the City of Rochester’s Public Works Department to place scarecrows throughout downtown has grown into a much larger seasonal tradition. The original scarecrows have now been retired, making way for our skeletons and other spooky additions that bring Halloween spirit to the heart of the city.
Today, our downtown features towering 10-foot scarecrows, themed photo backdrops, straw bales, corn stalks, and other festive touches that make Rochester a fun and unique fall destination. Our goal is to continue expanding these decorations each year, transforming downtown into a must-visit location for families and visitors who love the Halloween season.
As few communities in the region fully embrace Halloween, we see this as an opportunity to attract more people to downtown Rochester and celebrate the creativity and character that make our city special.

How To Support This initiative

Volunteer
Maintaining the skeletons and other decorations takes a significant amount of prep time. As does putting out the decorations and picking them back up. We have much more we would like to do, but we need manpower to make it work [email protected].
Donate supplies
We are always looking for more decorations, though we love all the great stuff you can get online or at homedepot. We really like to try to have as much custom pieces as possible. Things we would like to add to the downtown Creepy Dolls to hang from trees, Custom Backdrops for photos, etc. We will stake commercial items as well, but don't feel you have to spend significant money to donate supplies!
