Rochester Main Street is an economic development and historic preservation program. We are a volunteer-based nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing downtown Rochester, New Hampshire through various improvement projects, events, and community engagement initiatives. We do this by breaking our work up into 4 different committees. The links below break down the work of each committee
Our goal is to promote a positive image of downtown by preserving our unique historic character, strengthening our economic base, and emphasizing downtown as the center of community activity.

Rochester Main Street is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that operates through the guidance of a volunteer-based Board of Directors who set the policies and procedures for the program. We are also a member of the National Main Street Program through a branch of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Consider getting involved, becoming a volunteer, or making a donation to support this effort.
Our District
The Rochester Main Street Board of Directors remains committed to enhancing the efficiency and impact of our organization within the downtown area. Keeping this in mind we voted to refine our district in April of 2025. These new boundaries allow us to concentrate our efforts more effectively. While we will continue to support and advocate for initiatives throughout the broader downtown community, our primary focus and projects will be centered within the newly defined district. The map to our left highlights our district in yellow. The district encompasses both sides of each street within the designated area. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to message us.
